Arcane
The universal powers of Arcane magic functions through many complicated mechanisms. Often taking given components and using their inherit properties to manipulate another's properties and direct the manipulation. The classic manipulation of flame is the simple process of taking the given energy which is being exerted in the form of temperature and moving its location, duplicating its properties into the area nearby to expand it, and the like.
Arcane magic is by far the most common and malleable form of the art, it is the most frequently used to create new devices and technology as well as wielded by the majority of hobbyists as anyone can learn to use it. It takes dedication to master as its actual useage is very complex and requires a deep understanding of its many various applications. There are several schools of the arcane and learning any one of them is a difficult task yet alone all of them as master wizards do.
Manifestation: The art of converting mana into a more physical and tangible form. This is often used to create shields, throw fireballs, summon lightning and so on.
Enchantment: Spells that imbue the recipient with some property or grant the caster power over another being. Enchantments can be used to leave complex instructions on what to do with any energy input it receives and is the basis of most modern ethi technology. Enchantments often leave instructions to cast spells from other schools.
Transmutation: Spells that transform the recipient physically or change its properties. Transmutation is commonly used to manipulate materials for the construction of other things though can also be used to convert energy from one type to another.
Practitioners of Arcane magic are the most common, upon attending college and obtaining a degree the title of "Arcanist" is awarded in a similar fashion to the title "Doctor". For example "Arcanist Johnson".
Arcanist
Holds a masters from an accredited institution in regards to arcane study, this title is based mostly around comprehension of the art regardless of actual casting skill. Many Arcanists are employed as arcano-technicians developing new technology or work in labs researching new applications for arcane magic.
Adept
Holds a bachelors from an accredited institution in regards to arcane study, several years into study but not quite an arcanist just yet. Typically, they will continue their education to eventually become an Arcanist and work as interns and assistants until then.
Magus
Little to no education required, the title of mage is bestowed to those with great casting ability. They may not understand all the particle physics involved in what they do but in a duel they would mop the floor with an arcanist, literally. The title of magus or "mage" demands less respect then Arcanist but their talent in casting is to be noted. A sub title known as "War Magus" is reserved for soldiers who practice combat casting.
Archmage
The highest title of arcane schooling, archmages hold both deep understanding of their practice and ability to use it without ethi aid. One out of every hundred thousand arcanists will become an archmage.
