The commander of Fort James, a ranger outpost near the river. Bennet is the biggest ranger in the northwest federal territories closest to the miasma, and one of the most experienced. Coming from a time when the rangers had not yet proven their value to the federal government. After a long career of getting mauled by every supernatural horror known to man, his body was replaced with the advanced engineering of the army's mad scientist. He appears more machine than man these days, though it doesn't seem to bother him any.
Fort James is the largest repository of ranger knowledge in the federal northwest and is staffed by the myriad of strange allies Bennet has acquired over his long career. Most rangers with their own command often collect strange allies from their adventures but Bennet is known to take this to an extreme. He is well respected among the rangers but civilians and the army are often wary of the inhuman Colonel that keeps even demons under his employ.
He is somewhat elusive, often only seen by high ranking government officials or the occassional traveler in the mist. He spends most of his time within the walls of his fort managing those under his command. Every once in awhile he appears to solve bigger problems, but he found that with the benefits of command he is now forced to do a lot of paperwork and politcal schmoozing.
