Biography

A naturally talented psionic ruffian and scoundrel. Averill is a man who was born to unknown parents and abandoned in Necrosi. He grew up in a post Arkaric world and has never known anything other than galactic chaos. He technically speaks his own language that he invented because no one ever taught him how to speak common. It is unknown if he genuinely had no parents whatsoever and only became functional due to the universal translator or if he just lies about it, which he is prone to doing frequently.

He found his way into the cult of lucidity with plans to siphon assistance and then rob them, noting their weaker members were particularly prone to being manipulated. Eventually the cult warriors realized he was faking his way through just to steal food and anything not bolted to the floor. With this revelation it was obvious that he would be useful to a cult that did this on a much more professional and oraganized level. They intentionally made things seem easy to him so he would not realize he should make his extraction. Even he isn't totally sure when he became a true member, things have just always been pretty good for him here. Exploiting people for his own ends just came naturally to him and by the time he realized everyone else knew he was doing that he had also realized that was what everyone else here was doing too.

Over the years he became one of its particularly dangerous warriors who pioneered new ways to use the cult's strategies. He has intense cybernetic technology at his disposal and instead making his circle of channelers help him pilot the most complicated machine possible. Complete with extra limbs, floating giant swords, turret drones, seeking projectiles, and floating extra shields. He is barely functional without his supporting ritualists because he can't control all of it with just his own psionic abilities. While Averill is seen as a living weapons platform piloted by a dozen psionics, on his own he's just some guy who is relatively good at kinetics.

Despite his origins of attempting to scam the cult, and later creating a harem of his ritual circle, he still wound up being an impactful member and is now considered one of its most popular veterans. By using his ritualists as direct pilots to his weapons he wound up training the next generation of warriors from the safety of their circle while he took on the risk of the frontline. Graduating several of his members to the warriors and taking on new recruits to replace them. He's still a bit of a playful and carefree ruffian but the cult pays him a lot of money so he stopped being as nomadic as he once was.
