Biography
The first of Vloz'Khress' allies. The very first matriarch of what would become the modern Vloz struck a deal with Voriuk that basically sold the entire house into servitude if Voriuk would help them gain power. As promised, Voriuk turned the small clan of drow into a great house within a generation. Voriuk is an ancient demon lord who is just two dead demons away from becoming the next Demon King and has haunted humankind as long as history can track. He is something of a schemer, often planning and manipulating events to go his way and he likes to make ill advised bargains with other creatures including the old pantheon and the primordials.
During the Era of Rising he was allied with Valadeus and they schemed together to bring about the end of many of their rivals. When Valadeus' cult was destroyed by the church, Voriuk thought it was funny and bragged about how his resources were much more tenacious. At the time, Valadeus had not realized Voriuk was behind the fall of the warlock cult, having utilized the church to do his dirty work as a way to bait Valadeus into bringing the fall of the old pantheon. Things went bad for him around the time Valadeus made new friends, and their millenia old rivalry has taken a turn for the worse since then. Voriuk suffered his first true defeat since his birth at the hands of Daurgacalaun, the legendary dragon who has since become known as Kanika Hassani.
After his defeat he has worked to keep the Vloz'Khress much more firmly under his control to reject phantom manipulation. Things were steeply in his favor. He helped to bring about the demonic wars between Finsir and Finsor, seeking to cripple Valadeus in particular and help Vloz'Khress grow in power within Shetou. It would be centuries before Valadeus and the phantoms made any progress on the scale which the two demon lords were operating. Often thwarted by the ancient Voriuk and his slow, steady, but inevitable machinations.
Then Arkaric appeared, and Voriuk became irrelevant overnight. Millenia of being the definition of schemes and machinations, the one that all mankind should have feared yet didn't know existed, and one surgery later he was useless. Arkaric has systematically torn down Voriuk's empire and legacy, outwitting him every single day before breakfast and then going about his even grander plans than the entire demon civilization could even fathom. Ever since then, House Vloz has been constantly beset by the phantom manipulations and all its other manners of enemies it had made. Voriuk is desperately clawing to get at least back onto the playing field. Trying to wrap his tiny short-sighted brain around the galactic multi planar scale of what Arkaric envisions for the future.
So that's why he hates the phantoms. That is also why he's on Kharla's page as a footnote instead of being remotely important. Trivia fact: He is younger than Haziel.
